Viajero Hostels Calafate: The Southernmost Hostel in Latin America

Discover the first Viajero Hostels in Argentine Patagonia at the southwestern tip, nestled against the Andes Mountains. Experience an unforgettable journey in the winter paradise of the continental ice fields, where the Perito Moreno Glacier and the majestic Los Glaciares National Park await to provide you with a unique adventure.

Your Snow and Ice Adventure Starts Here

Enjoy our delicious breakfast with views of the bluish Lake Argentino (the largest by surface area and the southernmost in Patagonia) before immersing yourself in the deep beauty of Los Glaciares National Park, home to the imposing Perito Moreno Glacier. Here, you can sail in front of its towering walls, over 70 meters high. Photography enthusiasts can capture the stunning blue contrasts of the glacier from its famous walkways, and the more adventurous and trekking lovers can walk on it and savor a delicious whisky served with millennial ice. And if you're craving more action, you can also kayak in the cold waters of Lake Argentino among large chunks of glacier ice.

Do you prefer something more relaxed? Take a horseback ride along the foothills of the Patagonian mountains, an experience that uniquely connects you with nature and the breathtaking landscapes. Looking for a bit more action? Hop on a 4x4 vehicle that will take you through the scenery of El Calafate's Balcón, Lake Argentino, and the Andes Mountains. In winter, explore Cerro Huyliche in an exciting snowmobile adventure, or you can also skate on the frozen round bay, just a short walk from the hostel. In summer, you can even try kite surfing in the same spot! Crazy, right?

In the afternoons, relax on our terrace with stunning views of the mountains and lake while enjoying a tasty mate. As night falls, savor authentic Patagonian lamb in our outdoor barbecue area. And if the cold and wind catch you off guard, we'll welcome you in our warm and cozy indoor bar and restaurant. We also have a guest kitchen, perfect for preparing and sharing your recipes.

Before you leave, don't forget to try the Calafate berry, which gives the town its name and whose legend says that whoever tastes it will return!
