Welcome to Guatapé, a traveler’s paradise in Antioquia, Colombia. A peaceful place amidst the mountains,with unique views of the renowned Guatapé Dam lagoon, two hours away from Medellin.

Located 10km from the famous Piedra del Peñol, you'll find Viajero Guatapé Hostel in the Vereda Cristalina. From the comfort of your room, you can start your day enjoying the views of the incredible sunrise that forms over the mountains of Guatapé.Have fun with our various water sports and activities, while meeting travelers from other corners of the world. You can visit the Piedra del Peñol and climb more than 700 steps to admire Guatapé from above.

Admire the sunset while enjoying a delicious dinner at our Viajero Lake Club restaurant, and savor the Antioquian flavors of our cuisine.

We have dorms for up to 8 people, allowing you to meet travelers worldwide. Prefer something quieter? Stay in a private room that can accommodate up to 4 people, some with a balcony and lagoon view.

How to get to this hostel in Guatape

From José María Córdova International Airport:

By taxi/Uber/Cabify: From José María Córdova International Airport, you can take a taxi, Uber, or Cabify. The trip is 48 km. TIP: Drivers in the area prefer cash payments. If you plan to use a ride-sharing platform, make sure to select this payment method to avoid cancellations during your journey.

By bus/taxi: From José María Córdova International Airport in Medellín, you can take a bus with the name “Guarne” from the roundabout outside the building. Tell the driver you want to get off at the highway where the El Peñol buses pass. After getting off at this highway, you can catch a bus to the town of El Peñol, where you can take a taxi for approximately $4 to reach Viajero Guatapé.

From Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport:

By bus/taxi: From Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport, you can take a bus outside the building to the town of Marinilla. Once you get off in this town, you can take a taxi to Viajero Guatapé for a price of approximately $6 to $8.
