Viajero GO Loyalty Program

1. What is Viajero GO?
Viajero GO is the loyalty program of Viajero Hostels, part of an international network of hostels and experiences that connects travelers around the world.
With a free membership, travelers can access exclusive benefits at Viajero hostels and selected properties within the AKIN network.

2. Program Registration
Travelers can register for the Viajero GO program through the following official link:
https://viajero.akintravel.com/en/login
Registration in the program is free of charge.
By creating an account and accepting these terms and conditions, the user automatically becomes part of the program at the initial Tourist level.
Each member must register with valid personal information and keep their data updated.

3. Program Tier Structure
The Viajero GO program features five progressive tiers that reflect the traveler’s experience within the Viajero hostel network.

The program tiers are:

  • Tourist – Initial level granted upon registration
  • Backpacker
  • Explorer
  • Nomad
  • Viajero – Highest level of the program

Each tier includes the benefits corresponding to that level as well as the benefits of all previous tiers.

4. Requirements to Reach Each Tier
Program members may advance to a new tier by meeting any of the criteria established for each category.

Tourist
The Tourist level corresponds to the initial program tier and is automatically assigned upon registration in Viajero GO.

Backpacker
The Backpacker level is reached by fulfilling any of the following requirements:

  • Accumulate 7 or more nights at Viajero hostels
  • Stay in 3 or more different Viajero hostels

Explorer
The Explorer level is reached by fulfilling any of the following requirements:

  • Accumulate 15 or more nights at Viajero hostels
  • Stay in 6 or more different Viajero hostels
  • Complete all Viajero destinations within one of the following countries:
    • México
    • Peru

Nomad
The Nomad level is reached by fulfilling any of the following requirements:

  • Accumulate 20 or more nights at Viajero hostels
  • Stay in 10 or more different Viajero hostels
  • Complete all Viajero destinations within Colombia
  • Obtain the special recognition Viajero Tattoo, subject to program validation.

Viajero
The Viajero level is reached by fulfilling any of the following requirements:

  • Accumulate 30 or more nights at Viajero hostels
  • Stay in 12 or more different Viajero hostels

5. Program Progression
Program members advance to a new tier by fulfilling any of the criteria defined for that category.
Tier upgrades occur automatically once any of the established requirements for the corresponding tier are met.

6. Eligible Nights
For the purposes of the program, eligible nights correspond to completed reservations at Viajero hostels.
Nights will be counted under the following conditions:

  • They must correspond to completed stays
  • They must have been booked through Viajero direct channels, specifically:
    • The official Viajero website
    • Reservations made directly at the hostel

Reservations made through OTAs or other third-party channels will not be eligible for accumulation within the program.

7. Recognition of Previous Reservations
At the time of registering for the program, Viajero may recognize reservations made during the previous twelve (12) months, even if they were made through OTAs or other distribution channels.
These reservations may be added to the user’s profile provided that they can be verified in Viajero’s reservation management system and that they were made using the same email address used to register for the loyalty program.
This recognition applies only at the time of the initial registration in the program.

8. Visited Hostels
For a hostel to be considered visited, the member must have completed at least one night of reservation at that property.
Cancelled reservations, no-shows, or stays that were not completed will not be eligible for accumulation within the program.

9. Tier Validity
The tier achieved within the Viajero GO program will remain valid for one (1) calendar year from the moment the member reaches that tier.
To maintain their tier within the program, the member must register at least one (1) completed stay at a Viajero hostel during the validity period.
If no activity is recorded during this period, the member’s account will reset to the Tourist level.

10. Program Benefits
Members may access benefits depending on their tier.
The availability of benefits may vary depending on the destination, season, and operational conditions of each hostel.

Discount on Direct Reservations

Tier Benefit
Tourist 15% discount
Backpacker 15% discount
Explorer 20% discount
Nomad 20% discount
Viajero 25% discount

Discounts apply only to reservations made through Viajero direct channels.
They do not apply to reservations made through OTAs or third-party channels and cannot be combined with other promotions or campaigns.

Early Check-in and Late Check-out
Early check-in and late check-out benefits are subject to operational availability and must be requested directly at reception.

These benefits are not guaranteed and may not apply during high occupancy periods or special seasons.

Free Towel
Members of the Backpacker, Explorer, Nomad, and Viajero tiers may access towel use free of charge during their stay, subject to destination availability.
This benefit applies only to towel use during the stay and does not imply permanent delivery of the product.
Availability may vary depending on the room type booked and hostel operational policies.

Room Upgrade
Upgrades are subject to availability and are assigned only at check-in.

Tier Benefit
Explorer Upgrade within the same category
Nomad Upgrade to a higher category
Viajero Upgrade to a higher category

Upgrades may be limited during high season or high occupancy periods.

Exclusive Merch
Members of the Viajero tier may receive exclusive program merchandise, subject to availability.
The type of product, design, and availability depend on the destination and available stock.
The value of the product delivered as part of this benefit will not exceed USD $25.
Merch is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Free Breakfast
Members of the Viajero tier may access free breakfast when:

  • The reservation lasts at least 3 nights
  • The hostel offers breakfast service

The benefit corresponds to a breakfast defined by each hostel and does not apply to the entire menu. Included options may vary by destination and must be confirmed directly at the hostel.
The benefit includes a maximum of 7 breakfasts per guest per stay, regardless of the number of nights booked.

11. Application of Benefits
Viajero GO program benefits apply exclusively to the account holder and reservation holder.
Unless expressly stated, benefits:

  • Do not automatically extend to other guests included in the reservation
  • Are non-transferable
  • Cannot be redeemed for cash

The member must be present during the stay to use program benefits.
For reservations including more than one guest, the benefits and activity accumulation within Viajero GO apply only to the member identified as the reservation holder.
If other guests included in the reservation are also members of the program, they may request the registration of their own stay in their account, subject to hostel verification. Once registered, these members may accumulate activity and access benefits according to their membership tier.

12. Referral Program
Viajero GO members may invite other travelers to register in the program through a personal referral link or code.
When a new user registers using that link or code and completes their first stay at a participating hostel within the AKIN network, both the referring member and the new user will receive 100 AKIN points.
Points will be credited once the new user’s stay has been completed, meaning after check-out.
This benefit is subject to the following conditions:

  • The new user must register using the member’s referral link or code
  • The stay must be valid and completed at a participating AKIN property
  • Points will be credited only after the stay is completed

Viajero may invalidate or cancel the allocation of points if it detects:

  • Creation of duplicate accounts
  • Self-referrals
  • Misuse of the referral system

13. Misuse of the Program
Viajero may suspend or cancel a member’s participation in the program in cases of:

  • Misuse of benefits
  • Manipulation of the system
  • Behavior that violates the policies of Viajero hostels

14. Program Application
Viajero GO benefits apply at participating hostels within the Viajero network.
Final validation of each benefit corresponds to the hostel team at the destination, according to operational availability.

Additional Program Provisions

15. Program Modifications
Viajero may modify, update, or adjust the conditions of the Viajero GO program at any time, including its:

  • Tier structure
  • Benefits
  • Participation requirements
  • Any other aspect of the program

Any modification will be communicated through Viajero’s official channels and will take effect upon publication.

16. Program Cancellation
Viajero reserves the right to suspend or cancel the Viajero GO program, in whole or in part, at any time.
In case of cancellation, existing benefits or conditions may remain in effect for the period that Viajero considers reasonable for the program’s closure.

17. Limitation of Liability
Viajero will not be responsible for:

  • The inability to register activity in the program due to technical failures, system interruptions, or connectivity issues
  • The availability of benefits that depend on specific operational conditions at each destination
  • Operational decisions made by each hostel regarding the application of program benefits

Program benefits are subject to availability, operational conditions, and compliance with the policies of each property.

18. Membership Cancellation
The user may request the cancellation of their membership at any time through the “Contact Us” button available in the app.
The support team will handle the request and respond directly to the user.
Cancelling the membership implies the loss of all benefits associated with the program.

19. Minimum Participation Age
Participation in the Viajero GO program is available only to individuals over eighteen (18) years of age.
If a minor stays at a Viajero hostel, their stay may be associated with the reservation of a responsible adult but will not generate an individual account within the loyalty program.
